Terrain

Our partnership with the US Forest Service gives us exclusive access to over 1 million acres of prime Alaskan ski terrain.  That means we have terrain to satisfy anyone from an intermediate powder enthusiant all the way to the top professional snow athletes in the world.  It also means that exploratory heli skiing and riding, and first decents are still a possibility for those interested.

Juneau is situated along the shores of the Northern Inside Passage and is surrounded by islands and mountains. We enjoy a maritime snow climate which means a lot of snowfall in the winter.

Our ski terrain is divided into several distict zones.  Our primary operating zones are the Juneau Icefield and the Coast Mountains, which make up a large part of our tenure.  These locations offer incredible riding for our daily and package clients.  We also operate in the Southern Chilkats, and the Taku Range – these remote zones only see ski tracks a few days a year and offer the best chance at finding first descents.

Juneau Icefield

The Juneau Icefield covers 1,500 square miles across the crest of the Coast Mountain Range. It extends from Taku River to Skagway, and spills into Altin British Columbia. Snow can fall 12 months out of the year atop the plateau, with over 100 feet of accumulation, and contains approximately 65 summits and 38 glaciers. The central icefield yields tall granite spires, with icefalls, spines, roll-overs, and couloirs dropping into massive glacial run-outs.

Coast Mountains

The Coast Mountain Range run through Southeast Alaska and continue through British Columbia. Peaks along the coastline offer scattered tree runs, steep chutes, and giant meadows which descend into deep valleys holding glaciers or rivers below.

Chilkat Range

The Chilkats extend into Haines bordering Lynn Canal and Glacier Bay, and we operate south of the Endicott River. Here, mountains are surrounded by 270 degrees of water, and offer long ridgelines, open faces, hanging glaciers, and giant ravines. Views of the Juneau Icefield, Fairweather Range, and Glacier Bay National Park make the riding aesthetically pleasing.  Due to the distance from Juneau, this zone is best accessed as part of a private helicopter packgae.

Taku Zone

Our Taku zone has been featured in several ski films over the years.  This remote zone offers iconic Alaskan ski lines in every direction.  Due to the distance from Juneau, this zone is best accessed as part of a private helicopter package.
