Chris Miller
Raised in Juneau, Alaska, Chris purchased his first camera in 1996 and has continually striven to document his environment ever since. He earned dual degrees in International Relations and Studio Art at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts, where he also gained his first roots in journalist photography working for the Worcester Telegram & Gazzette. In 2005, he was awarded an Anton Fellowship, which produced his first photo documentary book, The Standard Foundry. Currently he is working on a long-term project to document commercial fishing in Bristol Bay, aided by a Rasmuson Foundation Grant in 2008.
Chris’ work has appeared in the Worcester Telegram & Gazette, the New York Times, Anchorage Daily News, Alaska Magazine, Newsweek, on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, CNN, and in various other international media outlets. His work is also represented by the Alaska Stock Photography Agency.
