Sean began skiing in Alaska at age three and has guided professionally since 1994. He was also a Pro Patroller/Avalanche Route Leader for 10 winters at Eaglecrest and has been the first responder for many technical rescues in the local backcountry. Having worked outside professionally for nearly two decades, Sean is a true expert in the mountain, glacier, and marine environments of Southeast Alaska.

In 2002 Sean and his wife Becky started Above & Beyond Alaska, a multi-sport adventure company permitted to lead trips on the glaciers & waterways of the Juneau Icefield, Endicott Wilderness, and Admiralty Island National Park. ABAK guided trips focus on small groups, specialized gear, and unique terrain accessed by helicopter or motorboat. Production service companies often hire Sean to organize the safety, logistics, outfitting, and permitting for movies, commercials, travel shows, and documentaries.

Although the majority of his guiding has been spent in Southeast Alaska, Sean has traveled the world pursuing outdoor adventure and learning about other cultures. Highlights include mountaineering trips to the Himalaya, Pyrenees, and Cascade Ranges. Rock climbing trips to Thailand, Spain, India, and Canada. Surfing trips in Mexico, California, and Hawaii, as well as ski trips to resorts & backcountry terrain across North America & Europe.
